Brown Sugar Pecan Praline Cookies

Brown sugar pecan praline cookies.
1 cup butter , softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Pecan halves.

Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer, gradually add sugars, mixing well. Add egg and vanilla, and beat well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt, gradually add to rcreamed mixture, mixing after each addition. Stir in chopped pecans, chill for 30 minutes. Shape dough into 1" balls, place on ungreaased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool on wire rack, and spread with Brown Sugar frosting over top of each cooking with a pecan half. Yield: 5 dozen cookies.

Brown Sugar frosting
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup half and half
1 tablestoon butter
1 1/2 to 1 2/3 cups sifted powdered sugar

Combine brown sugar,half and half in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, util mixture comes to a boi. Boil 4 minutes. Remove from hea, stir in butter. Add powdered sugar and beat at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth. Add remaining sugar to desired spreading consistancy. Yield: 1 1/3 cup.
